How to stop auto launch programs windows 7

Any program that you don't want it to load anymore on startup, simply uncheck the box beside that program's name. If later on you found your self that you need that program to load on startup, then you will have to check the box beside the application again.

Also note that in single click you can disable all program that are listed inside the System Configuration and load at the startup of your Windows. This is done by clicking on the Disable all button. For example, I will stop Windows Live Messenger to load on startup, so what I will be doing is to remove the checkbox from the box beside the Windows Live Messenger. Click on Apply and you will notice that the date on which the selected application was disable on will be mentioned under the Date Disabled column.

Once you click on OK , you will receive a dialog box informing you that the changes will not be applied till you reboot your machine, click Restart to reboot your machine, or if you want to reboot later, then click on Exit without restart. When your machine boots up, the programs that were disable to load on startup will not load this time. For example, previously I have disabled Windows live Messenger to load on startup, and after I rebooted the machine, the Windows Live Messenger tray icon was not loaded into the notification area.

Type msconfig. Those who use Windows XP should do the same in the Run dialog box. Select Startup in the System Configuration window to see the list of programs that start running when your computer boots up.

There is a checkbox in front of each one and you should uncheck the box to disable a program. As soon as you click OK a dialogue box pops up. It tells you to restart the computer to apply the changes. This is why you should know how to get rid of unnecessary startup programs on the new platform. The methods are not exactly rocket science and the newer versions of Windows made the process somewhat easier. Launch the Settings panel and click on Startup at the bottom left.

In Windows 8, you disable startup programs via Task Manager and there are two ways to launch it. If there are apps that you don't want to start when you turn on the computer, right-click on the program and click Delete to remove the shortcut this will not completely delete the program. If you have removed apps from your Startup folder that you don't want at all, such as adware, go to Control Panel , select Programs , and Uninstall a program.

You can then remove any apps you don't want on your computer. Go to Task Manager by clicking the Windows icon, select the settings icon gear symbol , then type Task Manager in the search box. Select the Startup tab. Highlight any progam you don't want to start automatically, then click Disable. This will only prevent programs from starting automatically. To remove the programs entirely, go to Control Panel , select Programs , and Uninsta ll a program.

You can then permanently delete any apps you no longer want. You should see a performance improvement if you remove many programs.
